PalletBiz South Africa is pleased to announce that we have recently relocated to Sabie, a forestry town situated on the banks of the Sabie River in Mpumalanga, South Africa. This strategic move is set to have a significant impact on the local economy and reinforce the company’s commitment to quality and sustainability.
Facility Details
The Sabie facility is situated on a vast 6.8-hectare property, with current operations utilizing 3.5 hectares. The facility boasts two primary workshop areas with under-roof space, facilitating production and storage of finished goods and raw materials. Future plans include the installation of a full sawmill along with a furnace-boiler combination and three 250m3 ovens.
Specialization and Services
The new facility in Sabie will specialize in producing a wide range of pallets. Additionally, PalletBiz South Africa will offer processed WOS (Wood of Sub-Saharan Africa) timber. Looking ahead, the company plans to expand its services to include sawmilling, timber processing of WOS, and, eventually, kiln-dried products.
Reason for Relocation
The primary driving force behind this relocation is closeness to raw materials and forestry resources. Sabie is situated in the middle of abundant forestry, making it an ideal location for sourcing the materials required for pallet production. Furthermore, the facility’s proximity to Maputo Harbor enhances the potential for container exports through this strategic port.
Serving the Local Area
PalletBiz’s presence in Sabie is set to have a positive impact on the local community and the packaging industry. The sawmill and pallet manufacturing operations will contribute to the socio-economic climate of the region, creating jobs and fostering growth. This relocation aligns with the company’s long-term strategy of vertical integration, enabling them to manage the entire process from tree to pallet, ultimately benefiting exports to the Middle East.
